The project:
WSI approached us to provide creative design and development services for the Canadian Immigration Lawyer’s Association (CILA) website.
Design process: During the discovery phase, in collaboration with WSI and CILA, we identified the need for a complex sign-up process and the requirement for e-commerce capabilities to handle memberships and donations. Considering the organization’s nationwide scope, we also considered local tax codes. Through a user-centered design approach, we created wireframes and prototypes to validate design decisions. Once approved, we built the website, ensuring a clear understanding of the design and functionality requirements.
Solution: The website was carefully designed to showcase the benefits of CILA membership and streamline the complex sign-up process to make it as user-friendly as possible. Our decisions regarding the payment processor and sign-up process provided the CILA team access to critical business reporting.
Results: The website has played a central role in CILA’s marketing efforts, facilitating significant growth in Canadian membership from just a handful of members to over 1000 and counting.
Conclusion: By understanding the functional requirements and addressing challenges early in the process, we could proceed through each project phase with clarity, avoiding the need to backtrack.
